The P&C contributes funds for activities, events and resources for students and staff of Canberra High School, in line with the school's CARES values - Community, Attitude, Respect, Excellence and Safety.
In 2025, this included initiatives funded through grants and fundraising efforts, such as upgraded seating to the Indigenous Garden (building a sense of community), a mental health ambassadors training workshop (promoting mental safety in our school community) and a writers camp (supporting excellence in the writing field).
We are excited to keep you updated with how the funds we raise will be used to directly make a difference for students, staff and the wider community. Every contribution really does make a difference!
R is for Respect, Rights and Responsibilities
With the support of the Tradies Dickson, the P&C has co-funded the purchase of 12 Fatal Vision Impairment Goggles, also known as ‘drunk goggles’. These goggles allow students to safely experience some of the effects associated with alcohol and drug impairment, including visual distortion, confusion, reduced alertness, slower reaction times, and altered depth and distance perception.
This resource provides a valuable, hands-on learning experience, reinforcing important safety messages around the effects of alcohol and responsible decision-making, supporting students to learn skills that carry beyond the classroom. They will be used in Health and Physical Education classes for our years 9 and 10 students and the year 10 ACT Pre-Learner Licence Training Program.
